How to get to Rexburg
We pulled off the road just past the Idaho/Utah border. I can’t remember if we had already passed Malad.
Dispatch from DC
A conversation in the lobby of the Braxton Hotel,
Hotel Guest: It’s a big flying thing. It’s big. Like a bee. Can you help me?
Front Desk Clerk: I’m sorry sir. I need to stay here. But if you’d like to check with us in the morning then we might be able to work something out.
Guest: In the mean time what am I supposed to do with that bug in my room.
Clerk: I don’t know what to tell you.
Guest: Well do you have any bug killer.
Clerk: No. We don’t have anything like that here.
Guest: Jesus, this place…!
Clerk: If you’d like to check with us in the morning, it’s possible we can change your room.
Guest: I don’t want to change rooms. I’m already settled. I’ve been here for three days already. I don’t want to change rooms.
Clerk: Well then I don’t know what else I can do for you except discuss this in the morning.
Guest: And what do I do in the mean time? Sleep on that couch over there?
Clerk: No, sir. You can’t sleep on the couch.
Guest: Well don’t you have any bug spray or something.
Clerk: No we don’t have any.
Guest: Urggg
Clerk: Let me go see what I have. (He goes to the back room and returns about 30 seconds later). Here. You can try this.
Guest: What is it?
Clerk: I don’t know. It’s some spray we have back here. I think it is for cleaning the sinks.
Guest: You don’t have any bug spray?
Clerk: That’s all we have. Now, I’ll see you in the morning.
Guest: Unbelievable.
(The man goes upstairs to his room on the third floor. A few minutes later he comes back down for something else. The desk clerk gave him a manila folder to hit the bug.)
Clerk: Use this.
Guest: I can’t use that. He’s flying.
Clerk: You have to wait until he is sitting still.
Guest: Jesus. Don’t you don’t have a night manager?
Clerk: No. You will have to wait until morning. Ask Larry in the morning.
Guest: What’s he going to do?
Clerk: That’s a question you will have to ask Larry.

Beth – Denver photoshoot
We walked up Colfax to see what we could see. As soon as Beth sat down on that old Ford a man pulled up. “That’s Hal’s truck. He don’t mind.” Thanks Hal.
