One of the classiest, most elegant girls I know is Heather Balliet. I shot her wedding in San Diego some time ago and anyone in attendance could tell Heather cared about the details. It was about as lovely and stylish as any wedding event I’ve photographed. And now, get this: She loved her wedding so much that she has become a wedding planner. Oh, those lucky brides in Southern California.
Her website can be found here, and her blog can be found here.

A week or two ago I posted pictures from Sarah and Kevin’s wedding and luncheon. Four days after their wedding, they had a party at the White Willow in Provo. Here are some pictures from that lovely event.

“Magenta”
by Nyia
The lilacs gently swift through the spring morning
breeze.
The borders of a foggy flashback.
The nervous knots in your stomach unwinding.
The color of my comforter, I sweetly dream on.
The sky on a foggy day, right after a thunderstorm.
The color of frostbite on your body before the pain
starts to bunch together.
The background of a couple on the beach during a windy
sunset.
The exciting high winds and rushing snow all around a
snow globe.
The pebbles in a pond swiveling around and unraveling
their magnificent beauty.
The temperature decreasing and making foggy windows
freeze.
The outline of an eclipse every time the moon and sun
combine.
The hushed tones of sweet old ladies’ light voices
singing.
He’s an animation major. She’s a health major. They met on a double date. She was with some other guy, he was with some other girl. A couple years later they started going out and now they are getting hitched.

See them all right here.
WPPI was really, really great/exhausting. There was so much info packed into three days. For me, hearing Denis Reggie speak was the most valuable part of WPPI this year. He was, by a long shot, the most inspiring speaker and the one with the most valuable and well thought out content. He was bright, informative, clever and very gracious with his time. I’d go hear him speak again in a heart beat.
Amy came with me and our main purpose for attending was to check out album companies. We’ve been using GraphiStudio and we’ll continue to use their Italian-made albums. We spent some time at the Cypress booth and fell in love with their stuff. We are excited to begin offering Cypress albums. With a world class brand that is Justin Hackworth Photography, only the finest albums will do.
While we were there, I was able to introduce Amy to the fabulous photographer and all around fantastic fellow Jose Villa. He introduced us to his cinematographer friend, Joel Serrato, whose work I really enjoy. We ended up talking to Jose for about 30 minutes.
We also ran into a couple great photographers from Provo and I finally got to meet Justin Lyon. Justin and his wife Amelia are photographers in Southern California but Justin is from my home town of Rexburg, Idaho. He knew me, and I knew him, but we’d never met face to face. We finally met and I think he’s great. So listen, if you’re getting married in Southern California, of course the first thing you’ll want to do is to call me. If I’m booked, however, I think you’d be wise to call them.

It just so happens that Amy and I had our 8 year wedding anniversary while we were in Vegas. We had a great time there and are looking forward to WPPI next year.

We stayed at Jeff and Laura’s house one of the nights Amy and I were in Las Vegas for WPPI. When I woke up, I made these pictures.

I’ve been in Vegas with 10,000 other wedding photographers for the past few days attending WPPI. It’s been really great and I’ve got some pictures to post soon, and a detailed list of why it’s been so good to be here. All that will come shortly. But right now, sleep.
Kevin and Sarah got married on March 11, 2008 at the Provo temple. After the wedding, there was a luncheon at White Willow. A reception will take place on March 14, 2008. Here’s a few from Tuesday.

Sarah and Kevin got married today. Images to follow, shortly.
