great images, great collection.
so sad to miss it.
so many of my peps were among that crowd.
You did, indeed miss a good one. Andrew Bird inspired me.
Nice shots… do you get releases for that sort of thing?… just curious since some people are looking directly at the camera… ?
Hi Rob. Releases are required any time you use an image for a commercial purpose if the subject is recognizable. Doesn’t matter if they are looking at the camera or not. But I’m not using these images for commercial purposes (as in, selling a product). So a release is not required and I didn’t get one.
Yesterday, however, a friend saw this and asked me how I know if people care if I take their picture. I told him that if they ask me not to, I won’t. I will always respect another person’s space. But I’m going to first assume they don’t care. I’ll take the picture first. If they don’t want me to continue, they’ll have to let me know. The reason why I don’t think that seems pushy is because I’m not exploiting these folks. I’m not going to do anything with these images other than show them here.
Thanks … good info… Now I don’t have to feel too bad about taking pictures at a park or at an event (as you had)!
This is such a great idea, Justin! You have quite a collection
