The Best Portraits of 2008

Are you like me? Are you doing some reflecting? Are you looking back on 2008 and thinking about the good times, the bad times and getting excited knowing 2009 is going to be even better? For example, two nights ago I drank some hot chocolate. I think that’s the first time all year I’ve done so, and it’s delicious. I think I’m going to be drinking way more of that stuff in 2009.

So in the spirit of looking back, I’m showing my favorite portraits that I made in 2008. Which image here do you like best?

these are all great–I think I like the ones taken for the 30 strangers project the best. Is another one coming in 2009??

I want to do something similar. I don’t know if it will be just the same as before. And I don’t want to wait until June to do my next project, either. I’m ready for one right now.

I say number 2 but I can’t tell if I like it because she is so hot, or because you make her look so hot? 1, then 4 are my other faves. they are all fantastic!

Now I’m going to have to look up your 30 Strangers project because these are awesome!

I like Andrew and Frank. And all the others, too, really.

I absolutely love the one with Andrew from the 30 Strangers project! I love the setting and retro style. The colors makes me think of home nice, cozy and all warm inside. Then Emily she is so stunning, it makes you want to look at it and figure out why you cant stop staring at it. Beautiful work Justin!

Johanna and Stephanie are my favorites. Johanna-I love seeing her set in the living room. It’s momdern and timeless all at once. Stephanie-the straps down on her shoulders just make the photo. Without that, it would be a beautiful portrait, but would lack that special something.

Tracy and Emily. But, I really love the one of family and friends on Long Island. I don’t count that one, though, because it’s a group and not a single. You do excellent work. Good job, Justin. By the way, can we see some pix of Eli’s 5th birthday?

Something about the coloring in the Tracy one is really gripping. I also really like the Andrew and Millcreek Canyon one though.

stephmodo. I love how it fades out in the corners and how she seems to be enlightened…in the woods…looking off. tall grasses and trees and her pose fit perfectly.

So hard to pick ‘the best’ when you have so many!

Great 2008 – looking forward to seeing your work in 2009! Merry Christmas!

“andrew” so many textures, pillows, lamp shade, wall paper….speaking of wall paper, I still remember the wall paper in the front room of your home…similar to this photo, but deep red velvet. I always think of the Hackworth’s when I think of good wallpaper…still. beautiful work.
