Family pictures
We don’t have any family pictures. I’m ashamed to admit it, yet it’s true. But here’s a recent picture of the whole family, taken by me. And I like it because see how thin I look!

Painting of a photographer
I kept seeing this guy outside my office. He was always painting. So one day on my way home I approached him and asked what he was doing and he told me his name was Steven Waggoner. He explained his cool paining project called “Hour Provo” and then he asked me if he could paint me. Who, me? Fun!
Thanks, Steven. I love it.

In the above picture, it sort of likes like I might be peeing my pants or that I’m sitting on bologna, but I’m not. Seriously. I’m not. I have no explanation for that expression. Awkwardness, I guess.

Thanks, Ashley
Ashley arrived in the middle of April to do an internship at Justin Hackworth Photography. When she showed up, the 30 Strangers project was well under way, and I just can’t imagine how I would have been able to keep up without her help. She came at the right time and from the first day she was here, she made a huge impact. And I’m not talking about her singing and dancing around the office, although that really helped light the place up, too.
But all good things must end, as they say. And Ashley’s time at our office is now finished. Thanks, Ashley, for all the great things you did around here. And good luck in your next big thing, whatever the next big thing turns out to be.

Do you think her name is Dolores Thompson or is it Kat Mandeville?

When she said her name was Kat Mandeville, I thought, of course it is. Someone that looks this groovy has to be named Kat Mandeville, or if this is you, and you’re name is something like Dolores Thompson, you’d have to change it to Kat Mandeville.
By the way, Kat’s a writer and keeps a blog here.
Salt Lake Wedding Photography – La Caille

Mariah and Dan got married in Salt Lake City at La Caille. It’s fancy. Now, when I photograph a wedding, I’m normally there for the whole event. Getting ready, the ceremony, dinner, dance and the see-you-later part. But if you want me there for just the ceremony and dinner, I’ll do that too. That’s what I did for Mariah and it turned out just dandy.

I met Crystal when she came to be a participant in last year’s 30 Strangers project. So I was really happy she wanted to me to photograph her again, this time with her girls.

Brenda had such a good time when we photographed her daughters that she decided to come back with her son. Not a bad idea.

Utah wedding photography – Red Butte Garden
Ben and Naomi’s wedding took place in Salt Lake City at Red Butte Garden. Good times and laughter. And dancing. Oh, was there ever dancing. If you held back from the dancing you were in the minority. Let it all go, folks. This here’s a party.

On the night before Ben and Naomi got married, they had a dinner for family and friends. The night started with big sun. Then, dark clouds, then rain. But wait for it, wait for it. Ah, there it is: the sun.
A great night.

How to rock Provo – The Starlight Mints

This dude did a short set before the Starlight Mints. I wish I could remember his name. I only remember one thing he said. “How many people here have ever raised their hand before?” I love that line.
Then, the Starlight Mints.
