Hi Felipa. I do have some tips. People look more relaxed when they feel relaxed. If you're photographing people in a crowd at a reception or some such event, just go about your picture taking without them seeing you. Or, if they turn and look and give a corny smile, kindly say, "Oh, that's ok. Just keep doing what you were doing" or some thing like that. One thing I do a lot when doing a portrait of someone is to ask them questions. They can't think about the answer and talk about it at the same time they are faking a smile. So, at the end of their sentence, that's a good time to take a picture. (That takes practice). Another thing about doing a portrait is that I keep the directions to a minimum or none at all. That's for two reasons. First, I want them standing they way they normally would. Looks more authentic in the final image. Second, the more they have to concentrate on all the directions you've given them, the less likely it is that they'll be able to relax.

These pictures are very nice. Really captured the cozyness of the wedding. They capture real human quality because they don't look "posed for."

When I take pictures, everyone turns to the camera and puts on their "frozen smiles," got any tips on getting good candids like that?

By the way, I especially love the shoe picture. Gotta love the shoes, hehe ;-)

Yes, yes, gorgeous. Congratulations, Jeannie! You can just feel your good vibe in these pictures--which I credit first to you for having a good vibe and second to Justin for capturing it so well.

Oh, I wish that I knew them & was invited to the wedding. The food looks AMAZING. There are some incredibly romantic shots. They make me weak in the knees. These are just gorgeous!!

I especially love those first two images! It was so good running into you yesterday. I wish I would've snapped a photo of you in your full winter garb! So cute.
