30 Strangers – Day Sixteen

Joni has been on her own since she was 15. Let’s just say, things at home were rough.

One thing that made a huge impression on me about Joni is how she embodies forgiveness. She told me that this verse of scripture is what got her through all that’s she’s been through.

Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are builtĀ upon my rock, they cannot prevail.
– Doctrine and Covenants 6:34

I’ve thought a lot about Joni since she left my office that day and continue to be impressed with the road she’s taken. I wish I could say more.

Here she is, photographed with her two daughters and her mother.

I love all of these when they pop up in my Reader. I especially love this one.
