WOW, lots of fun shots, there.
Please put most of these in your shop. I need!!
So impressive! You are very good at what you do and this year in review is breathtaking. Thanks for sharing. Also, thank for including a picture of me. It makes me feel famous. You are living the working artist’s dream.
The cowboy image and the Maxine Hanks are my most favs… Seriously, the Maxine Hanks image? One of my all time favorites from you Justin. Beautiful 2012.
awwwwww! to be in such fantastic company! love all the shots but especially any of the ones with the gorgeous eyes! and the bike riding across the desert! what a beautiful year and all the best for 2013!
Thanks, Ania. That one of you is one of my all time favorites.
I am inspired by your beautiful photos.
Thanks, Heidi. I really appreciate that.
I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to have you photograph my family, to be included here?
*sigh*
You are talented my friend, so so talented.
You have a spectacular gift for seeing people, thank you for sharing it with others.
Killed it this year.
Dude, that image of Joanna Brooks? Get out. Seriously, unreal.
I also really love the photo of Mara and Danny. It’s the composition, intricate simplicity, great light, and of course, such a cool moment.
I like how quiet the portrait of the man looking away from the camera is.
Bride & groom kissing with the girls watching is so good. The girl who is popping out of her shoe a bit? Perfect.
The family portrait on the deck really works for me too. It’s one of those images that I would really love to be in. Group portraits like that. So hard.
And any photo of Amy, duh.
Ok…here goes!
There are so many I LOVE simply because of the subject matter. That one of Amy reading to the boys is SO precious. Mostly because I know that the sheer joy on all their faces is so authentic. What a treasure to have captured that.
The one of Lisa Jones and her family! Wow. That will be so meaningful to them over the years to have captured their innocence and happiness before Noah got sick.
Love the pic of Amy and Miles at the parade. Every time I look at that, I just hear, “So we called up the Hackworths…” in my head.
There is a bridal portrait that is particularly engaging!!
That one of Jeremy and C-note…. OH MY GOSH!! I love the juxtaposition of his pure happiness and her emotional tears. I love Jeremy squeezing her arm….the white water in the background….
Could the one of Miles looking up at his bday candles be ANY cuter????
That one of Amy and Lisa is one of my favorites of Amy…. it is a look I haven’t seen before in your photos of her: confident and strong and coming into her own.
All the mother/daughter ones are compelling.
Then there are the ones that I love for their aesthetic appeal and their artistry:
Want the peaches in my house, and the one of the bike on the salt flats. yum!!
Love the IDAHO shot… it projects a serene calm amongst the blizzard.
The cowboy shot is so great…. both looking in opposite directions.
The profiles of a young girl with long hair and the older woman are incredible. The lines, the lighting, the clarity, the simplicity….
I love the picture of Mara and Danny…love the movement all around them. They are sitting there looking cool and comfortable with each other while the world bustles on around them. What a perfect shot. Similar to Ania. What a cool image.
If Mindy doesn’t blow that one of her up huge, she is plum crazy.
Hue and Hum! Oh man….that image just makes you want to hang out with them. They look like the coolest people around.
Oh dear…so sorry for all this. I just want to talk about every single one!
So here my final favorite picks (SO hard!):
2nd place tie: Shot of Maxine Hanks. Can’t quit looking at that. It’s like God is shining a spotlight right over her AND the girls peeking at the bride and groom. That singular image sums up the whole wedding! (And I love the shoe popping off…too)
Tied for 1st place: … The family pic at Sundance (something so captivating about it) AND the senior portrait…her disheveled / slightly wrinkled shirt, cleff in her bottom lip…those sultry EYES, and her vulnerable, yet confident stance.
Grand prize: the lovers J&J!!
Thanks for the gift you give us all, Justin.. in sharing your pictures. They are as good as photography gets.
These are amazing. I’m an aspiring photographer myself and I see so much inspiration and beauty here.
p.s. came by from Moosh In Indy.
Crazy, stupid good. Just added Justin Hackworth photos onto my life list because, dude.
Justin? I freaking love you amd Amy. So many beautiful images. I thinl the one of Alma is my favorite.
What a spectacular year. Beautiful pictures, and could Kim in the Santa hat get any cuter?
You are oh so talented.
I think your stuff is really great! Looks like you had an amazing year, congrats! If you’re ever in the DC area, I would love to have you photograph my family. Happy New Year!
As always when I look at your work I am in AWE….I just feel so blessed to know you.
(How sweet of you to include a photo of the 4 C’s. That was such a special shoot for us.)
Justin you are so beyond talented there is pretty much no description for it. I love seeing the world through your eyes, its fascinating my friend!! AND here is the best news, I got a last minute ticket to ALT so hopefully I will see you there!!!
Love your guts
mandi
Brilliant! really wonderful the way you see
I’d like to second everything that Jenny said! Especially that bit about my family. Even though he was already sick when you took them, we were unaware of what the next week would bring. I’ve thought many times how thankful I am for the gift of those photos before the news. Thank you so much.
And a thanks for sharing your year in review, it’s remarkable! Love you.
