Last summer, they met working on the river in Moab. Both of them, river guides. Becky said she didn’t really care for him at first. Thought Andrew was a little goofy. But slowly, slowly, she changed her mind a bit. In fact, at some point, she told Andrew that if he could guess her middle name, she’d buy him ice cream. And if he couldn’t guess her middle name, he had to take her out on a date.
And now, Becky and Andrew are getting married. These portraits were taken in my Provo studio and also up Provo Canyon, just past the Hope Campground. It’s paradise up there and we only got rained on just a tiny bit.
Oh wait. You want to know if Andrew guessed her middle name? She doesn’t have a middle name.

Oh, sure I’ll be photographing their wedding in Idaho soon, but in the mean time, engagement pictures here in Provo. These two are so fun and could hardly stop smiling at each other, even for a second.
Meet Yoema and Matt.

Planning a wedding has been a real hitch in the get-along since Jordan’s in the Marines’s and doesn’t know when and where he’ll be stationed. But they’re getting married. That much they do know. So we took some engagement pictures in Provo on one of those rare April days when you didn’t need a ski parka to keep warm outside.
They’ve known each other since high school, and now they’re getting married. Meet Kiersten and Jordan.

Aimie and Mathew are getting married at Alta this summer. So you might be asking yourself how they met. Fun story. They are both studying engineering in Austin, Texas and both were teacher’s assistants for the same class. Glances, giggles, flirting…you know how it goes. Next thing you know, there’s some chemistry in the engineering department.
So now there are some things to do before the wedding. One of those things is to get engagement pictures taken. We met downtown Salt Lake when they were both in town for Christmas. It was so much fun, we didn’t even get cold. Well, I didn’t.
Now, meet Aimie and Matt.

Well, the good news is I’ll be in New York photographing the BlogHer convention in August and I’m really looking forward to that. The bad news is that I won’t get to photograph Brooke and Kevin’s wedding in San Diego because it’s at the same time as the convention. But the good news is that I still got to photograph them for their engagement pictures. And the bad news is–wait, there’s no more bad news. That’s it.
And now, meet Brooke and Kevin.

They met like this: Her dad started a motorcycle shop. He hired some guy to run the place. I think that guy knew Greg. Then Lisa was at the shop or something. There was also something about kissing. Listen, the story was complicated. What it comes down to, really, is that in February, Lisa and Greg are to be wed.
Here’s a one minute slideshow with a few more of their engagement pictures.

I think it’s a good sign when an engaged couple can’t stop smiling when they look at each other. From time to time I’d say, “Ok, now don’t smile for a second” and for Paige and Mark, that was impossible. They’d giggle and try not to smile, but in the end, they’re just so happy to be getting married. Now that’s sweet.
Location: Provo
Mood: Giddy bliss
Percentage of time smiling: 99.9%
Her coat: Freak’n awesome

Lisa and Ryan came for engagement pictures. We walked around Provo a little bit, not too far from my office. Then we drove to Provo Canyon. It’s that time of year, so yes, I’ve been there a lot lately. I consider myself lucky. Do yourself a favor, and drive up there this week. Here’s a one minute slideshow from these engagement portraits.
