Mindy Gledhill

If I could sing as well as Mindy Gledhill, I would never use a speaking voice. I would sing everything I wanted to say. I would order food in a singing voice. My voice mail message would be a song. I wouldn’t even talk in my sleep. I’d sing in my sleep. I would always be singing. That’s if I had a voice like Mindy Gledhill.

For me, making friends with Mindy is one of the highlights of 2010. This girl is all charm. She is driven to be a great artist and entertainer (which I totally admire), she’s affable, beautiful, caring, and like I said before, has a voice that will melt you. Mindy Gledhill is amazing and I adore her.

And now, this can’t come soon enough. Mindy will be performing on August 2nd at the Covey Center in Provo for her latest album release. That night, you’ll be able to get your mitts on the CD before it’s available in stores. Here’s where you can get tickets to the concert. The Thrillionaires will be performing that night, too.

I like what Hailey Smith said on Facebook. “You would just be silly to not come to this.”  And she’s right.

Proceeds from the concert will go to benefit the arts in Provo. More specifically, a concert series that’s being put together by Mindy, Courtney, Sarah and myself as part of Provo’s Center Focus efforts. So get your tickets today. I’ll see you August 2nd!

Provo Mayor?

by justin on May 22, 2009

in Photography

Steve Clark is running for the mayor of Provo this fall. Earlier this week he announced his candidacy and today he came by my studio to be photographed. I was really happy to hear about his vision for downtown Provo, especially since my office is in downtown Provo. My favorite part is when he said there would be jet packs for everyone by the year 2015. (Just kidding. He didn’t say anything like that).

The Robisons used to live right behind us. They don’t now, and we miss them dearly. And not just because Julie used to pass delicous food to us over the fence. (The dolmathes were my favorite and she made them from the grape leaves that grew on the fence between our yards). We miss them because they were fabulous neighbors.

So I was happy when they called and wanted some family pictures. Taken January 1, this is my first portrait session of 2009.

Party This Friday!

by justin on December 2, 2008

in business,Photography,Provo

This Friday, December 5th, we’re having an anniversary party at the studio. Although I’ve been in business for ten years or so, we’ve only been at this location for one year. We’d love to have you come say hi. If you’ve been reading the blog now and again and we’ve never met face to face, now’s the time.

The Gatsby’s will be playing and we’ll be giving away some gift certificates from some of our favorite locations in Utah County, including the Pizzeria 712–a place I wish I could dine every day.

Partygoers, do you believe in the power of sweets? Then you’ll be so glad to meet The Sweet Tooth Fairy and her cupcakes. Available in January at their retail location; available Friday at our party.

All the info can be found right here. We’d sure love to see you.

Family pictures – Shep and Tracy

by justin on October 14, 2008

in Family portraits,Provo

Working as a photographer herself, Tracy had come to this place in Provo before to take pictures. She loved the colors. She shot film, then had it cross processed.

So when it came time for family pictures, she remembered this place.

I followed her and Shep over. I wasn’t sure where we were going, but when I saw that building, I thought, well if that’s not where we’re going, we should certainly stop anyway. Turns out, that’s what Tracy had in mind. I love it when we’re on the same page.

And now, here’s their one minute slideshow:
