Get this. After we sat down for a few minutes to talk so I could get to know the Olson’s, we went in the studio to make some portraits and I turned on the music. I selected Mates of State, the Re-Arrange Us album. The parents stared at me like I was from another planet. Then Dan said, “How did you know this was their favorite band?” These kids love Mates of State? Well now, this is going to be fun.

Seriously, what family wouldn’t want photographs like this? Look at that image #3. That’s one of my favorite portraits I’ve taken in a long time.

Justin Hackworth photographs happy families that like Mates of State, Rilo Kiley, Tegan and Sarah, Passion Pit or Tuba music and he wants to photograph you.

The 30 Strangers project will soon be over. But what to do about all those people that still wanted to participate after the 30 spots were filled? (We filled them in about 2 hours). Well, we came up with a great plan and a super deal. Interested parties still have a little time to get in on it. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll give you the low-down. That’s what Jenna did. And I was so glad she did, too. She’s a photographer, too, and I always love meeting other creative types.

Want pictures like this for you and the people you love? We should talk. Getting married? Give me a jingle. I’ll catch you on the jangle.

Justin: So, what do you like to do? Do you play the guitar? Do you ride a skateboard?
The mother: Tell him what you like to do. Tell him what you do as soon as you get home from school every day.
The daughter: You mean, eat?

When was the last time you had family pictures taken? We should talk. Getting married? We do weddings!
