When I look back at all the weddings I photographed in 2010 it’s hard to select the best images. More accurately, I’d say this selection is a handful (ok, two handfuls) that represent a variety of emotions, scenes, personalities, details, and traditions. My goal was to create a collection of images that evoke a feeling of love and celebration.
My other goal is that you will call me to photograph your wedding and hopefully you’re getting married in Italy. My passport is current. Just saying.

Justin photographs happy wedding celebrations wherever they take place and he wants to photograph you.
It all started with the cupcakes. Rachel and a friend had a contest to see who could make the best cupcakes. They invited the neighbors over to be judges. Matt liked the cupcakes, but he liked Rachel even more. Now they’re engaged to be married.

Mariah and Dan got married in Salt Lake City at La Caille. It’s fancy. Now, when I photograph a wedding, I’m normally there for the whole event. Getting ready, the ceremony, dinner, dance and the see-you-later part. But if you want me there for just the ceremony and dinner, I’ll do that too. That’s what I did for Mariah and it turned out just dandy.

Ben and Naomi’s wedding took place in Salt Lake City at Red Butte Garden. Good times and laughter. And dancing. Oh, was there ever dancing. If you held back from the dancing you were in the minority. Let it all go, folks. This here’s a party.

Who said you need to get married in Utah in order for me to photograph your wedding? I never said it and if someone did, they were misinformed.
Now, take for example, this couple. They’re getting married in Idaho, shortly, and I’ll be there to photograph the event. Can’t wait. I love to photograph weddings.
Back in May I went to Rexburg for their engagement pictures and last week we drove to Saltair for her bridal pictures. And we included the groom. Sort of like engagement pictures again, but with fancier clothes, a bouquet, and more horse flies. Yes, there were horse flies and let me tell you, those suckers bite.

Later, Megan’s sisters showed up and I took pictures of the whole group. Amongst themselves there was some catching up to do, of course, so the conversation included this gem.
One sister: Today my son ate two of my birth control pills. He’s fine. The lady at poison control said he could eat the whole pack and all he’d get is a stomach ache.
I love my job.

Justin: So, what do you like to do? Do you play the guitar? Do you ride a skateboard?
The mother: Tell him what you like to do. Tell him what you do as soon as you get home from school every day.
The daughter: You mean, eat?
……
When was the last time you had family pictures taken? We should talk. Getting married? We do weddings!

Justin: (to the daughter) It’s Friday night. What are you going to do tonight?
Daughter: I don’t know.
Mother: You’re going to babysit.
Daughter: Babysit? Why?
Mother: Because Mama looks hot. I’m going out.
……
Ensure family harmony by getting photographed together on a regular basis. Getting married? We should talk.
Lisa and Greg got married in Salt Lake City at the Point in February. It was lovely as can be and I was happy to be there.

It was a beautiful and small wedding. Sixteen people total. That includes the bride and groom, the guests, and the little boy carrying the ring. Eighteen people in all if you count the bishop and the photographer. By the way, the last picture shown in this post may be my favorite group shot I’ve ever taken at a wedding.
The event took place in Salt Lake City at Heritage Gardens.
Here’s a slideshow of more of their wedding pictures.

Here’s where you can view the whole event and buy prints.

Rachel is like her mother–charming and composed. In fact, the whole family is like that. I photographed her sister’s wedding a couple years ago and I’m thrilled to be shooting for this family again. And after being with them, you always walk away with a smile.

You can buy prints here and see the rest of her bridal pictures.
Rachel was photographed at her house in Salt Lake City. She was a real champ too, standing out there in the cold the whole time. Here’s the support team. Thanks Arial!
