It all started with the cupcakes. Rachel and a friend had a contest to see who could make the best cupcakes. They invited the neighbors over to be judges. Matt liked the cupcakes, but he liked Rachel even more. Now they’re engaged to be married.

Justin Hackworth photographs happy couples in love and he wants to photograph you. Planning a wedding? Give me a jingle. I’ll catch you on the jangle.
Here’s what I did last Friday. A blog post to come soon.

Rebecca and Jason are getting married in Salt Lake today.
I’ll be there, click-click.

P.S. I love my job. Care about getting stunning images of your happy day, give me a jingle, I’ll catch you on the jangle.
Ashley and Kent got married at the Salt Lake temple. One of the warmest days in February I can think of. A beautiful day. Their luncheon took place at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where family members told embarrassing and sweet stories about the bride and groom. Mostly embarrassing though. Later that night, friends and family gathered for a wedding celebration at Noah’s in Sandy. It was, on all accounts, a lovely affair.

Mariah and Dan got married in Salt Lake City at La Caille. It’s fancy. Now, when I photograph a wedding, I’m normally there for the whole event. Getting ready, the ceremony, dinner, dance and the see-you-later part. But if you want me there for just the ceremony and dinner, I’ll do that too. That’s what I did for Mariah and it turned out just dandy.

Justin Hackworth loves to photograph weddings. If you love great wedding photography, well then, we should talk.
Ben and Naomi’s wedding took place in Salt Lake City at Red Butte Garden. Good times and laughter. And dancing. Oh, was there ever dancing. If you held back from the dancing you were in the minority. Let it all go, folks. This here’s a party.

On the night before Ben and Naomi got married, they had a dinner for family and friends. The night started with big sun. Then, dark clouds, then rain. But wait for it, wait for it. Ah, there it is: the sun.
A great night.

Later, Megan’s sisters showed up and I took pictures of the whole group. Amongst themselves there was some catching up to do, of course, so the conversation included this gem.
One sister: Today my son ate two of my birth control pills. He’s fine. The lady at poison control said he could eat the whole pack and all he’d get is a stomach ache.
I love my job.
Our 30 Strangers project is well under way and I love the way it’s going so far. But what to do about all those people that still wanted to participate after the 30 spots were filled? Well, we came up with a great plan and a super deal. If you want to know what it is, email me and I’ll tell you all about it. That’s what Leah did. And I was so glad she did, too, because a while ago I found her great blog and since then, I’ve been wanting to meet her. I love it when stuff like that happens. Thanks for coming in, Leah.

Want picutres like this for you and the people you love? We should talk. Getting married? We do weddings! Need carpets cleaned? Sorry. Can’t help you there.
Me: Do you want to be famous?
Krissy: Yes I do.
Krissy is an opera singer. When she came to the studio I got her to sing for me and now I want her to be famous, too, because I think the world deserves to hear that beautiful voice of hers.

Here were my two favorite things about Rachel and Micah’s wedding day in Salt Lake City. I loved the speeches from her parents, and I loved hearing Micah play the violin, accompanied by Rachel. My other two favorite things were hearing Hannah sing and watching their slideshow. Rachel and Micah are so classy and refined and I’m really happy to have been there.
Wedding: Salt Lake Temple
Dinner: The Lion House
Here is a slideshow of more wedding pictures

Here’s where you can buy prints and view the whole wedding.

Christmas is over and I had a great holiday. There was a ham, some presents, laughing, rides on the ATVs, naps, getting out the old family photographs, singing, and telling stories about when we were teeny. No wassle. I don’t know why we didn’t have Wassle. But we’re back home now and it’s back to work. I have two weddings to photograph this week, plus we’re doing another bridal show on Saturday. Busy, busy. Just the way I like it.

She’s a writer. He’s a builder. Now they’re married.
Here’s a three minute slideshow if you want to see more of their wedding pictures.
And here’s where you can view the entire event and order prints.

Back when we made these bridal portraits for Lindsay I only posted one close-up. She didn’t want Whitney to see the dress until the big day. Well, now that the wedding has passed, I’m posting some of my favorites. Enjoy.

Janet and Steven got married at the Hidden Valley Country Club. I arrived early and we got in golf carts and drove to some secluded places and took pictures of the two of them before the guests arrived. I loved driving the golf carts. We even saw a deer. I took that as a good omen of good things to come.

You can see a short slide show here.
