Portraits of mothers and daughters.
Photographed over the course of four years, for a project called 30 Strangers. It worked like this. For an entire month, I'd have a mother/daughter group come to the studio to be photographed. Instead of paying a session fee, they'd instead make a donation to the Center For Women and Children In Crisis. I had one session every single day, for a month. And everyone that came was a stranger. Someone I had never met before. 30 portraits in 30 days. 30 Strangers. They didn't stay strangers. Since then, I photographed some of these participants' weddings, babies, and extended families.
The final year of the project was in 2012. I hope to do it again some day.
